I couldn’t stop laughing to myself or perhaps at myself when I thought about this article. Really, Andrew? Writing about this at this time of the year? Well…. YES!

Let me tell you a little story. It was around this time of the year in 2001 when my family suffered a massive loss in our lives. My Dad – a 53year old healthy man – died suddenly from a heart attack and brain haemorrhage. My older sister was finishing her Masters degree in Scotland, I was in University and my younger sister was in private school at the time. Mum couldn’t keep up with tuition fees and raising a family on her income and suddenly life as we knew it, became very different. The funny thing about all this is that, no one in my family thought this would happen to us. In fact, we thought we were financially secure, that even if it were to happen, we’d still be financially ok. We were very wrong!

Christmas is a time we spend with our loved ones. We eat, drink, sometimes, if not all the time, eat and drink too much and spend a lot of money to make our loved ones happy. Have you thought about what will happen to your family, friends and loved ones if the worst does happen?

Well, “All I want for Christmas” this year is that you spend some time to give this a good thought! Protect your family and lifestyle and ensure you have the peace of mind, every night. Speak to a qualified financial adviser like Wealth Peak to understand how you can achieve this.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas.
